Global photovoltaic capacity is expected to increase by nearly 50 GW, fueled mainly by growth in China, Japan, the U.S. and some key emerging markets, according to a report by the PV Market Alliance (PVMA).
European markets are expected to stabilize after the steep decline since 2011, the report says, while India's potential will start to impact the global market.
The PVMA, established in late 2014, consists of PV industry analysts and experts from China, Europe, Japan, Latin America and the U.S. Its members include the following:
- Asia Europe Clean Energy (Solar) Advisory Co. Ltd. – Hong Kong;
- Becquerel Institute – Brussels, Belgium;
- Creara (formerly Eclareon Spain) – Madrid, Spain;
- RTS Corp. – Tokyo; and
- SPV Market Research – San Jose, Calif.
