IBC SOLAR AG, a Bad Staffelstein, Germany-based photovoltaic integrator, has partnered with testing institute SGS-TUV GmbH to develop criteria for the Certified Supplier audit, which is designed to assess manufacturers of solar modules. The standard considers both production quality and company management, including social responsibility.
The test covers the general impression of the company, data transfer and the security of its information technology systems, adequacy of production machines, quality management, the extent of the test equipment, and test processes and production control, among other areas. In addition, the company's practices in dealing with employees, employees' qualifications and working conditions are considered.
