Isolux Corsan has finished building and commissioning three photovoltaic solar power plants on a budget of approximately 40 million euros. According to the company, the installations are currently considered to be the largest in the U.K., with a total installed capacity of 15 MW.
The three solar power plants are located in Langform, Churchtown and Manor, where 22,000 crystalline modules are set on fixed arrays, each with 5 MW of installed capacity. Isolux Corsan completed engineering, procurement and construction work. Development and investment were arranged by Banco Santander and a local partner.
The plants were connected to Western Power Distribution's electricity grid before the latest change in regulations this summer, which reduced photovoltaic feed-in tariffs in the U.K., the company adds.
