juwi Sells Two-Site Czech Solar Farm To Plain Energy

The juwi Group, a Germany-based project developer, has sold a 5.8 MW PV park located in the Czech Republic to Plain Energy GmbH, also based in Germany.

The installation consists of two projects: The first installation features 64,000 PV modules from First Solar installed at Hostovice I and Hostovice II, located east of Prague. This plant began operation on Dec. 10, 2010. The second, in Trebovice, includes 13,300 modules with a total capacity of 997.5 kW and was commissioned Dec. 22, 2010.

‘Solar power is the central element of a comprehensive supply with renewable energies,’ says Jochen Magerfleisch, chief operating officer of juwi. ‘Without the construction of further free-field PV plants, Europe will not be able to reach theâ¦ needed power supply based on renewable energies.’
