KACO new energy says it will begin producing its blueplanet solar inverters in London, Ontario. The new facility, which will be located in London's Skyway Industrial Park, is the company's first in North America.

KACO will begin producing its XP series 83 kW and 100 kW blueplanet inverters by November. The company plans to provide the Canadian and U.S. markets with the popular XP central inverter line before the start of 2011. The inverters will be compliant with the Ontario Power Authority's domestic-content requirements for its feed-in tariff program.

Approximately 50 full-time employees will be hired to operate the 25,000 square-foot facility. KACO plans to expand the factory to over 40,000 square feet in 2011 to accommodate the production of new inverter models.
