Kosmo Solar, a Springfield, Mass.-based provider of solar photovoltaic applications, recently installed several solar energy systems for low-income residents in the western Massachusetts region.

The combined energy output for these systems will be 382 MWh over the life span of the equipment, which is approximately 30 years, the company says. Kosmo expects the systems to save the owners over $159,000, while preventing 170 tons of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere.
