Kyocera Supplying PV Modules To Japanese Plants

Kyocera Corp. has signed an agreement to supply a total of 3 MW of the company's multicrystalline silicon solar modules for two of Tohoku Electric Power Co. Inc.'s new solar power plants. Construction of the two facilities will start this month and is planned to be completed in January 2012.

The 2 MW Sendai Solar Power Plant in Shichigahama, Miyagi Prefecture, is expected to generate 2,100 MWh. The 1.5 MW – of which Kyocera is supplying 1 MW – Hachinohe Solar Power Plant in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture is expected to generate approximately 1,600 MWh.
