Solyndra Inc., a manufacturer of cylindrical photovoltaic systems for large commercial rooftops, says that Nazca, a project contractor, has completed a 1.2 MW solar system installation on the rooftop of a food conditioning facility in Cavaillon, France.
This is Solyndra's second installation for Nazca in France and one of Solyndra's largest worldwide, the companies note. For this turnkey project, developed for a third-party investor, Nazca completed the installation and the grid-connection process in 11 weeks. The system, installed on a new, white reflective PVC membrane, consisted of more than 6,800 Solyndra panels and is expected to generate 1,500 MWh of electricity annually.
