Delta Electronics Inc., a provider of power supply and thermal management products, and Neo Solar Power Corp. (NSP), a Taiwan-based solar cell manufacturer, have entered into a strategic cooperation plan.
NSP will launch a tender offer for a 13% to 15% stake in DelSolar Co. Delta currently owns approximately 54% of DelSolar. The transaction will consolidate the cell and module businesses of NSP and DelSolar, as well as the systems business of Delta.
According to the companies, the combined entity will form the largest solar company in Taiwan. It is expected to have a solar cell manufacturing capacity of nearly 2 GW.
