New Jersey Blueberry Farm Goes Solar

A new solar system will provide nearly 100% of the annual energy needs of Atlantic Blueberry, a family-owned blueberry farm in Hammonton, N.J.

SolarKal, a commercial solar advisor, says Atlantic Blueberry will recoup its investment in three years, as well as decrease its carbon footprint. New Jersey-based Advanced Solar Products Inc. installed the project, which totals 199 kW.

“We are happy to announce that, with the completion of this project, we can start to deliver clean and cheap power to Atlantic Blueberry,” says SolarKal. “Like many of our clients, the farm had explored solar for years before deciding to use our proprietary platform.”

Art Galletta, Atlantic Blueberry’s partner and son of one of the founders, adds, “It was a natural next step to continue our commitment to sustainability with this solar installation. We chose SolarKal as our solar advisor based on their experience and vast solar professional network. We knew we needed to go solar but didn’t have the time or resources to navigate the transition. We look forward to saving money on our energy bills and doing our part to help the environment.”
