NORESCO, a provider of energy efficiency and energy infrastructure solutions, has expanded upon a previous contract with the State of Hawaii to include $2.9 million for a photovoltaic solar electricity generation system at the Kalanimoku Building in the downtown Honolulu Capital District. NORESCO is a subsidiary of Carrier Corp., which is a unit of United Technologies Corp.
Funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the new solar installation is an educational and demonstrational project reviewed by the U.S. Department of Energy. The PV system has a capacity of 200 kW.
