Ohio Power Siting Board OKs Pair Of Solar Projects

The Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) has authorized Hardin Solar Energy II LLC and Hecate Highland Energy LLC to construct solar facilities in Hardin and Highland counties, respectively.

Invenergy’s Hardin Solar Energy Center II, to be located in Marion, Roundhead and McDonald townships, will be capable of generating up to 170 MW AC and will also include a battery storage system.

Hardin Solar Energy plans to commence construction in the second quarter of this year and commission the facility in the second quarter of 2020. The facility will be merged with the 150 MW AC Hardin Solar Energy Center I, which was approved by the OPSB in February 2018.

Hecate Energy’s Highland Solar Farm, to be located in Clay and Whiteoak townships, will be capable of generating up to 300 MW AC. The developer plans to commence construction in the third quarter of this year and commission the facility in the first quarter of 2021.
