S&C Electric Co. has introduced a switchgear package that is designed to help solar developers reduce plant installation time and to standardize plant designs.
The company says the engineering services and switchgear package, which is specifically oriented to interconnection substations, is ideal for solar plants up to 35 MW. S&C claims that with this solution, solar power plants will cut switchgear lead times by up to 60%, which could greatly reduce the time to complete a project.
The package includes engineering services for the substation and S&C's System VI switchgear. This technology uses gas-insulated fault-interrupter modules based on S&C's Vista underground-distribution products.
