Siemens Energy has appointed Theodor Scheidegger CEO of its solar and hydro division. Scheidegger previously held executive positions in various companies, most recently as CEO of Sovello AG, an integrated supplier of solar wafers, cells and modules.
Scheidegger also worked for Siemens for several years in Canada and then at Siemens Solar Industries in California. He subsequently held various executive positions at companies including Invensys, Emerson and the Precious Woods Group in Germany, Switzerland and the U.K.
Effective Oct. 1, Siemens bundled its activities in the fields of solar and hydro power into its new solar and hydro division. The new unit also focuses on the development of energy-storage technologies.
