Solaria Energia y Medio Ambiente SA says it has launched a new project focusing on the technological improvement of its solar PV cell manufacturing line. These technological measures are expected to result in cost reductions for the company, which plans to double its current PV cell production capacity and increase cell efficiencies.
In order to implement this initiative, Solaria has chosen Germany-based centrotherm as a technology partner. As an initial step, Solaria's existing solar PV cell line has been updated with the latest state-of-the-art technological advances, the company says.
During the second stage of the project, another next-generation production line will be set up. High-efficiency equipment will be added as part of the third stage.
