SolFocus, Bechtel Power Corp. and developer Sol Orchard have completed a 1 MW high-concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) power plant at Nichols Farms in Hanford, Calif.
The SolFocus installation will meet roughly 70% of the processing facility's electricity demand, according to the companies. The power plant, located on six acres adjacent to the pistachio processing facility, consists of 119 8.8 kW SolFocus SF-1100S CPV systems.
The project was designed and built by Bechtel and is now connected to the regional electrical grid serviced by Southern California Edison.
