Soltec, a manufacturer and supplier of horizontal, single-axis trackers and related services for ground-mount solar PV projects, has opened a new research and evaluation center in Livermore, Calif.
The Bifacial Tracker Evaluation Center (BiTEC) will perform assessments of installation and control parameter influences on bifacial tracker performance compared to other PV applications, the company says.
Providing products for testing are companies including Canadian Solar, Hanwha Q CELLS, Jinko, LONGi, REC and Ampt.
Soltec and BiTEC are collaborating with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory to assist primarily in the application of simulation models. Soltec is also collaborating with engineering, construction and consulting firm Black & Veatch and certification and bankability laboratory Renewable Energy Test Center.
Soltec’s U.S. headquarters are in Livermore. The company also has manufacturing and commercial facilities in Argentina, Brazil, China and Spain, as well as other offices in Australia, Chile, Denmark, Egypt, India, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Peru and the U.S.
