Spain’s Solar Subsidy Cuts Will Proceed As Planned

0

Spain will go forward with its plans to reduce solar subsidies from new generators, following the suspension of talks to enact broader changes.

Ministers and company executives failed to agree on prices for existing plants, leading to the breakdown of discussions, Bloomberg reports. Consequently, prices for power from ground-mounted PV may be cut by 45%. Large rooftop plants may see a 25% reduction, and small rooftop plants are expected to face a 5% reduction.

These price cuts have been included in a draft law sent to the national energy regulator for consultation.
