Spire Corp. has installed a photovoltaic module manufacturing line in Eastern Europe. The line will be used to produce PV modules for the local regional market.
The company says it is providing ongoing technical support for the training and ramp-up of the line, which is expected to begin producing modules for delivery by the end of the year. The installed capacity is expected to support utility-scale installations in 2014 and beyond.
‘We are very excited about installing this inaugural line into this region,’ says Roger G. Little, Spire's chairman and CEO. ‘There is a great deal of demand for solar in this region and Spire is pleased to be working with a local partner on their entry into the solar market.’
