Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd. says it plans to introduce a new generation of its 72-cell module for the commercial- and utility-scale solar markets in Europe.
According to the company, the SuperPoly STP305-24/Ve has an efficiency rating of 15.7% and is ideally suited for large-scale commercial projects. The company's SuperPoly technology uses an ingot casting process that combines the high efficiency of monocrystalline silicon wafers with the square wafers and better temperature performance of polycrystalline silicon wafers, Suntech explains.
The module is certified to withstand extreme wind (3,800 Pascal) and snow (5,400 Pascal) loads, the company adds.
The new modules will be available throughout Europe starting in November.
