Sustainable Energy Developments Enters Residential Solar Market

Ontario, N.Y.-based Sustainable Energy Developments (SED) says it has launched a business unit dedicated to residential solar energy.

SED will offer homeowners a free analysis of their site to assess sun exposure, building conditions and electrical infrastructure. SED will then provide the results of the analysis, including options for size, financing from local banks, and economic returns.

The company says the current economic incentives available for solar projects in New York state were critical in the company's decision to move into the residential solar market.

"Solar energy in New York state is an economically viable option for homeowners and business owners," says Kevin Schulte, SED's CEO." SED's decision strengthens our effort to demonstrate economically beneficial renewable energy projects in our community and neighboring communities. People need to understand just how affordable and smart it is to install solar – the time is now."

SED will focus its residential solar efforts on the greater Rochester area.
