Tessera, a subsidiary of Stirling Energy Systems Inc., has ended plans to construct a 250 MW solar power plant with the City of Phoenix.
The company was in the planning stages of developing the project, which would have been located at a Phoenix-owned landfill in Buckeye, Ariz., the Phoenix Business Journal reports.
Tessera was unable to find a utility to purchase the power generated by the facility, Peter Wilt, senior director of development, told the newspaper. Financing also proved to be problematic.
