The City of Dinuba, Calif., has teamed with Tioga Energy and Chevron Energy Solutions to develop a 1.15 MW solar electric system at the city's wastewater treatment plant.

Comprising 4,704 photovoltaic modules, the ground-mounted system will sit atop a capped landfill near Dinuba's wastewater treatment facility, which is the city's largest energy-using facility.

Tioga Energy, a provider of renewable energy services to commercial, government and nonprofit institutions, will finance, manage and own the project through its SurePath solar power purchase agreement. Chevron Energy Solutions is providing design, engineering and construction services for the installation.

The installation is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of this year, Tioga Energy says.
