Upsolar Provides 500 kW Of Modules For Biltmore Solar Field Expansion

Upsolar America Inc. has announced the completion of a 500 kW solar electric system at Biltmore in Asheville, N.C., expanding the residential estate's current installation.

Constructed by local firm Phillips and Jordan Inc., the project expands the solar field from 1.2 MW on six acres to 1.7 MW on nine acres. Upsolar says the 500 kW addition features its smart modules that couple its PV modules with Tigo Energy's power optimizers.

The historic 8,000-acre Biltmore estate was completed in 1895 by George Washington Vanderbilt II. Preserving the land on the historic landmark while optimizing the power-harvesting ability of each module was an important requirement for the project, according to Upsolar.
