Abound Solar, a manufacturer of thin-film photovoltaic modules, and Solar Integration Systems India Pvt. Ltd. (Solarsis), a solar system integration company in India, have commissioned a 1 MW solar photovoltaic plant in Kadiri, Andhra Pradesh, India.
The commissioning comes less than a year after the two companies announced a partnership targeting the fast-growing Indian solar market. This project was commissioned under the Rooftop and Other Small Solar Power Generation Plant Scheme administered under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission.
‘This plant will generate operational data on different technology performance in Indian weather conditions, as [it] uses 620 kW of thin film based on Abound modules and 380 kW of crystalline silicon with single-axis tracking technology,’ notes Venkat Rajaraman, CEO of Solarsis.
