BP Solar has begun construction on the $97 million expansion of its Frederick, Md., solar panel manufacturing plant. According to the company, the expansion will enable a doubling of its capacity output and add 70 new jobs to the 400-person staff.
BP Solar also announced a $100,000 donation to a Maryland initiative that will install solar panels on the state's schools and incorporate renewable energy lessons into science classes.
