China Files Complaint With WTO Over European Solar Subsidies

0

China's Ministry of Commerce has filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization WTO stating that some of the European Union (EU) countries' solar incentives violate WTO rules.

These countries' governments provide higher subsidies for solar projects that use components produced in their home countries, or require domestic content to be used. According to a Reuters report, China's government says these laws impair the country's ability to participate in a fair international trade environment.

Earlier this year, China filed complaints against the U.S., South Korea and the EU, claiming that these countries illegally dumped solar polysilicon.
