Cooper Bussmann Introduces Two-Module PV Surge Protector

0

Cooper Bussmann, a provider of circuit protection, power management and electrical safety products, has expanded its range of surge protection devices (SPDs) with the addition of a two-module surge protector.

Primarily for applications where the positive or negative output of the PV system is directly grounded, the product allows the system builder to reduce the number of SPDs required. Only one two-module unit would be required on the side that is not connected to ground, reducing inventory and investment, the company explains.

The protector has a two-step DC switching device and features Cooper Bussman's proprietary easyID local visual indicator technology, in which green and red visual indicator flags show module protective status. The device can also be used with optional remote contact signaling (floating changeover contact).
