Deltec Homes says it recently completed one of the largest solar panel installations in North Carolina, investing nearly a half a million dollars toward sustainable renovations in its Asheville, N.C.-based offices and manufacturing facility.
The project features the installation of 273 photovoltaic modules (55 kW power capacity) and the latest energy-efficient fluorescent lighting. Deltec says it will be using 100% renewable power to produce its homes by the end of 2007.
Deltec has been building circular-style sustainable homes for nearly 40 years and says it is currently the sole manufacturer of panelized homes using on-site solar energy.
