Department Of Commerce Postpones Decision On Chinese Solar Trade Case

0

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has delayed the announcement of its preliminary determination in the countervailing-duty portion of SolarWorld's trade complaint against China. The announcement, originally scheduled for Jan. 12, has been postponed to Feb. 13.

The DOC is examining PV product pricing in order to determine whether Chinese modules were sold at ‘unfairly’ low prices (i.e., dumped) and whether producers and exporters have benefited from ‘unfair’ government subsidies.

According to a Federal Register notice posted by the Solar Energy Industries Association, SolarWorld petitioned for an extension of the investigation and subsequent preliminary determination by the DOC.
