Austria-based Kioto Photovoltaics, a producer of monocrystalline and polycrystalline photovoltaic modules, says that Solar Insurance has certified its modules.
The certification means that Kioto's clients can now insure their projects with an option called ‘inherent defect and warranty’ from Solar Insurance, which backs up the warranty of the modules.
The option covers damage caused by weather conditions, fire and theft, and compensates operators for production loss. Solar Insurance completed an audit of Kioto's factory, analyzing its technical, financial and environmental qualities, before awarding the certification, Kioto notes.
