Solar power solutions provider REC has announced the completion of the 9.5 MW Chiang Rai power plant, located in northern Thailand.

Powered by approximately 41,000 REC Peak Energy Series solar panels, the Chiang Rai power plant went into operation in March and represents REC's first project in Thailand. The project is owned and operated by Chiang Rai Solar Co. Ltd., a joint venture between independent solar power producer Sonnedixand and construction company CK Power.

"REC has a proven track record and a wealth of experience in this still-young industry," says Franck Constant, chairman at Sonnedix." REC solar panels were among the most reliable options for weather and climate conditions in Thailand and to comply with government regulations."
