‘Major layoffs’ are expected this month at both Nanosolar and SoloPower, according to a recent VentureWire report.
Citing documents that the two companies recently filed with state regulators, VentureWire says that Nanosolar will release 170 employees out of approximately 200 on April 15, while SoloPower will lay off 61 employees.
Both Nanosolar and SoloPower manufacture thin-film PV modules. Neither company has publicly confirmed the upcoming layoffs, although SoloPower announced in February that it was planning a ‘restructuring.’
