Southern Energy Management (SEM) has designed and installed a 198.24 kW PV array for zipper manufacturer IDEAL Fastener Corp.
The array is sited on the roof of IDEAL Fastener's factory in Oxford, N.C., and includes 826 of LG's 240 W solar modules.
Crews from SEM started building the system in October and completed work by mid-December 2011. The installation will generate an estimated 261,280 kWh of electricity annually, according to SEM. With help from federal and state incentives, the project has a four-year payback at current energy rates.
