China-based Sky Solar has completed a 30 MW PV power station located in Alar City, Xinjiang, China.
Xinjiang province offers high levels of solar irradiance, the company notes. Coupled with the Gobi Desert's extensive land, the resources make this region ideal for the development of large-scale PV power stations. Since early 2011, Sky Solar China has considered Xinjiang one of the most important and strategic markets for large-scale ground mounted PV power stations.
The recently connected 30 MW project represents the first phase of a 200 MW project that will be developed by Sky Solar.
