Suniva Inc., a manufacturer of crystalline silicon solar cells and modules, says that the 5 MW West Tennessee Solar Farm in Haywood County, Tenn., has been inaugurated. The company provided its modules for the project.
Designed and built by Signal Energy, and managed by the University of Tennessee Research Foundation (UTRF), the West Tennessee Solar Farm is the largest utility-scale solar installation in the state, according to Suniva.
Located next to Interstate 40 in Haywood County, the highly visible, 25-acre solar farm is expected to generate more than 7 GWh of electricity annually and is designed to allow for additional solar energy capacity in the future.
