Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd. has inaugurated a 44 MW PV project called Sunny Bangchak in Bang Pa-In, Ayutthaya, Thailand.
The project is owned by Bangchak Public Petroleum Co. Ltd (BCP) and utilizes Suntech's solar modules. Construction was performed by engineering, procurement and construction partner Solartron Public Co. Ltd.
Sunny Bangchak is open to the public, with an on-site exhibition center where local schools, residents, tourists and policymakers can learn about solar technology. It represents a major milestone in Thailand's ambitious goal to meet 20% of its total energy consumption with renewable sources by 2022, Suntech adds.
