Astronergy, a subsidiary of the Chint Group, says it has donated 150 kW of PV panels to a solar system installed on a parking lot of The Hospital Infantil de Las Californias, a children's hospital in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.

The PV system will cover 80% of the electricity needs of the medical facility – a savings of approximately 400,000 pesos a year (equivalent to $31,133) over the 25-year useful life of the installation.

The North American Development Bank and the Border Environment Cooperation Commission will provide technical assistance funding to the government of the state of Baja California for the installation costs.
