Isofoton says it has manufactured solar photovoltaic cells with 19.5% efficiency thanks to a new selective-emitter manufacturing process. This efficiency level is more than half a point more than the highest efficiency rates previously obtained through conventional manufacturing technologies.
Isofoton used a laser-based selective emitter manufacturing process to produce 10,000 cells. With this new cell technology, the company hopes to obtain 60-cell modules with a 265 W power rating.
