Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has introduced the GPP100MS, a new photovoltaic solar panel protection rectifier with a high current rating of 10 A and high reverse voltage of 1,000 V in the P600 axial package. The product is suitable for polarity protection applications in solar panel blocking boxes, according to Vishay.
Based on glass-passivated chip technology, the GPP100MS offers a maximum operating junction temperature of 175 degrees C. The device features low thermal resistance, a low forward voltage drop of 0.80 V at 10 A and 125 degrees C, and a high forward surge capability of 440 A, the company says.
Samples and production quantities of the new rectifier are available now, with lead times of four weeks for larger orders.
