LDK Solar Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of multicrystalline solar wafers, has signed a wafer supply agreement with Silcio SA Greek, for a term of six years that commences in 2008 and ends in 2013. This agreement includes 50 MW of silicon wafers with a fixed amount of deposit. An additional sales agreement – a four-year take-or-pay contract for 33 MW of wafers to be delivered from 2008 through 2011 – was signed with Arise Corporation of Canada.
LDK Solar has also secured an additional polysilicon sourcing agreement for 1,450 MT, with shipments scheduled for the first half of 2008 through 2011. This agreement will enhance the company's polysilicon sourcing position in the near term.
