Chevron Energy Solutions has started construction on a 1 MW ground-mounted solar power plant for the Fountain Valley School District in California. The array is expected to reduce the school district's electricity purchases by over 70%.
The Fountain Valley School District selected Chevron Energy Solutions to develop, design and construct the project. The solar plant is expected to be completed in May 2014.
