Trina Solar Ltd. says its Trinasmart photovoltaic performance optimizer product has received IEC 61215/61730 certification from TUV Rheinland.
Trina Solar says Trinasmart enables the monitoring and control of solar arrays at the module level. Users can access module data in real time through a smartphone or laptop. In an emergency – such as during a fire – users can switch off the entire array.
‘Though there have been tremendous technological innovations in the solar industry, questions were raised on how to define the electrical characteristics of a smart module under standard test conditions,’ says Ulrike Therhaag, director of solar and fuel cell technology at TUV Rheinland."
