GE Energy Financial Services has invested in the 32 MW Kumenan solar photovoltaic power project under development by Pacifico Energy in Japan.
Toyo Engineering Corp. has started construction on Kumenan, which is located in the prefecture of Okayama. Pacifico Energy is managing construction and operations. Yingli Green Energy is supplying photovoltaic modules.
Subject to government approval, the plant will sell electricity to a regional utility through a 20-year power purchase agreement at a fixed tariff rate. The facility is expected to reach commercial operations in the first quarter of 2016.
