Allied Tube & Conduit, a division of Tyco International, will be presenting information about solar PV mounting structures during Intersolar North America next month in San Francisco. The presentation, ‘Re-Engineering Your Mounting Structures,’ will be given by Ed Kurasz, vice president of Allied's mechanical tube division.
‘Mounting systems are a costly, labor-intensive and often overlooked component of a solar project,’ Kurasz says. ‘We will demonstrate how using in-line galvanized steel tubing and angle can reduce both material and labor costs while producing a long-lasting, more corrosion resistant structure.’
The program will describe in detail how the in-line galvanizing process is able to produce a stronger, more corrosion-resistant steel profile. It will also explain the advantages this advanced processing technique holds over commonly used materials, such as aluminum or traditional hot-dip galvanized. The presentation will also feature case studies describing how others in the solar power industry have successfully integrated Allied's products into their mounting structures.
