Colorado-based Namaste Solar is building a 2.6 MW solar array for Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania.
Situated on 10 acres owned by the college, the ground-mount array is expected to supply 20% of its electricity needs. The project is owned and operated by developer Community Energy and is expected to produce more than 3 GWh of electricity per year.
Elizabethtown College was awarded a $500,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority to build the project. The array is scheduled to be completed this winter.
"We are excited to be a part of this landmark project and help provide the community with an opportunity to learn more about renewable energy,’ says Ben Griffin, Namaste Solar's northeast regional project development manager.
