SunEdison Inc., the renewable energy development company that, according to Vivint Solar, recently “breached” its merger agreement, has appointed a new chief financial officer (CFO) designee. Ilan Daskal has been named CFO and executive vice president of the company, effective no later than April 4.
This change comes ahead of the current CFO’s shift to a full-time role as the president and CEO of the company’s two subsidiaries. Brian Wuebbels, the current CFO, says he looks forward to focusing his full-time efforts to drive shareholder value at both TerraForm Power and TerraForm Global.
“Despite the current challenges in the yieldco space, the team and I believe there is significant value in the companies, given their geographic diversity and balanced mix of contracted solar and wind power plants,” Wuebbels says.
According to SunEdison, Daskal presently serves as the interim CFO of Aricent, a product engineering services company, and a board member and chairman of the audit committee of Ixia, a provider of network testing, visibility and security solutions.
Prior to his current role, Daskal acted as executive vice president and CFO of molecular diagnostic company Cepheid, executive vice president and CFO of power management semiconductor technology provider International Rectifier Corp., and CFO at both Savan Communications Ltd. and Smartlink Ltd.
