Spire Solar Expands Leadership Team With Five Hires

Spire Corp., a provider of turnkey solar factories and capital equipment for PV module manufacturing, has expanded Spire Solar's leadership team with the addition of five senior staff members.

Dr. Avishai Kepten has been named Spire's vice president of solar cell lines. In this role, Kepten will lead the business development of Spire's cell line activities, with responsibility for both sales/marketing and technical implementation. He joins Spire from Novellus Systems.

Jae-Bok Young is Spire's new vice president of business development – Far East. He is responsible for the development of Spire's business in Korea and throughout Asia, and will coordinate sales and marketing activities in that region. Young has extensive experience with companies such as Eaton, PRI Automation and MagneMotion.

Martin Stein has been named vice president of engineering and new product development, tasked with leading the company's new-product development for all of its technology platforms. Stein previously served as a general manager of the robotics product group and director of quality at Brooks Automation.

Louis Insalaco Jr. has been appointed vice president of manufacturing, where he will be responsible for all manufacturing activities, including operations in Bedford, Mass., and developing offshore operations. For the past 20 years, he was responsible for global production at BTU International Inc.

Michael Hurton has joined Spire as vice president of strategic resource management, responsible for material procurement evaluations and reducing costs by evaluating cost structures and supply strategy. Hurton spent many years at BTU, where he was responsible for production cost evaluations related to materials and operations.
