The U.S. Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program has recognized Anthony Pereira, president and CEO of altPOWER, with its Transformational Energy Action Management Special Achievement Award for Technology Demonstration.
In particular, the award acknowledges altPOWER's installation of a 205 kW solar power system on the roof of the department's Washington, D.C., headquarters last summer. altPOWER installed the array on behalf of Sunpower Corp. in just under 10 days.
‘I am honored to receive this award,’ Pereira says. ‘The fact that federal and state governments are interested in doing projects like this shows that they are ready to take a leadership role in bringing clean, renewable energy to the forefront of our national energy policy.’
