The SolarWorld group says it has set several new benchmarks in the deployment of photovoltaic technology in the world marketplace. The company, which recently moved its North American headquarters to Hillsboro, Ore., notes that a freeway solar project lit by its Sunmodules won top honors among 2008 transportation projects from the Portland chapter of WTS, an organization dedicated to advancing women in transportation careers.
In addition, Sunmodules are currently providing power at the San Jose, Calif., Unified School District's recently completed 5.5 MW solar and energy efficiency project, which is believed to be the largest K-12 project of its kind in the U.S. SolarWorld's Sunmodules also recently took first place in a performance study covering all solar panels available in Europe.
